Biostimulators

Biostimulators are injectable substances that stimulate the production of collagen in the skin.

Collagen is one of the most important support structures found naturally in our skin, helping to maintain proper firmness, elasticity, and flexibility.

Over time, our skin gradually loses its natural collagen, leading to facial laxity and the formation of furrows and wrinkles.

Sculptra

It is a drug or substance that is used to restore lost volume, for wrinkles and contour defects, and/or to improve the sagging of facial or body skin.

Especially indicated for:

  • Replace lost volume.
  • Improve sagging skin (body or face).
  • Scars.
  • Recover the contour.
  • Lipoatrophy, or fat loss.

Sculptra is Biocompatible and Biodegradable. That is, the chances of developing an allergy to the treatment are low and it is also reabsorbed and disappears from our skin after a certain time.

It has been used in medicine for over 25 years.

Composition. The vial contains:

  • Poly-L-lactic acid.
  • Sodium carboxymethylcellulose.
  • Non-pyrogenic mannitol.

"Treat, Wait, Evaluate"

It is the basic principle for the administration of Sculptra. The dosages to be injected per treatment and the number of treatment sessions depends on patient expectations and the characteristics of the area to be treated.

Once the optimal result is reached, on average it persists for a term of 2 years.

Side effects

  • Localized redness on the area of injection.
  • Ecchymosis or bruises.
  • Mild swelling or edema, which goes away within 2 to 6 days. If applied by a cannula, the appearance of redness, bruising, and inflammation is much less.
  • Nodules have also been reported. Using the proper technique and massaging the treated area to ensure proper distribution of the product prevents the appearance of nodules.
  • In sporadic cases, the presence of abscesses, late granuloma, allergic reaction, or skin atrophy are reported.

Recommendations for aftercare

  • Massage the treated area for 5 minutes, 5 times a day, for 5 days.
  • To reduce friction, use facial cream or lotion for massage.
  • Within the first 24 hours after treatment an ice pack for a few minutes should be applied, and during the time needed to help reduce swelling. Make sure the ice is wrapped in an appropriate sleeve to avoid direct contact with the skin.
  • Makeup can be applied a few hours after treatment if there are no signs of complications.
  • Avoid excess sun and UV exposure until initial swelling and redness are gone.
  • Duration of treatment 30 minutes.
  • A number of sessions, initially 3, spaced 1 month apart.
  • Ointment anesthesia if working with a needle.
  • Does not require anesthesia if working with a blunt tip cannula.
  • 1 maintenance session per year is recommended.
  • Duration of treatment results: 2 years on average.
  • It can be done at any time of the year.

Ellansé

It is a revolutionary facial treatment that acts under the deep dermis and is indicated to treat the signs of aging, especially for those faces in which a sagging process begins, generated by the passage of time.

It combines these two benefits: The immediate filling of the wrinkle or furrow and the stimulation for the production of new collagen (neo-collagen genesis) of type I and III collagen in the organism itself. Natural results will be obtained with longer duration because restores elasticity and skin radiance while maintaining the thickness thereof, being lost over the years, giving results for longer periods.

Optimal results are obtained after 12 weeks of the application of Ellansé ™, that is because enough time is required for your skin to manufacture more collagen than it had before applying Ellansé, (the “fibroblast” cell of the skin, requires up to 3 months to manufacture an adequate amount of collagen for the result to be evident).

In any case, the ability of Ellansé to stimulate the renewal of collagen is fascinating, as well as the type of collagen it creates since it is a new material that helps to keep the skin of the face elastic and smooth, although it can be used to rejuvenate other areas such as hands, neck or neckline.

Composition

Ellansé is a new long-lasting biocompatible and biodegradable material, this means that our body reabsorbs Ellansé at 100%, leaving no type of residue.
