The extended and circular “Abdominoplasty” is a complex surgical procedure to reconstruct the abdominal wall by removing excess skin, excess of fat and rebuilding the muscles of the abdominal wall, with the ultimate goal of reshaping the abdomen, waist, and trunk shape of the body.

These patients are candidates for circular abdominoplasty.
Women with one or more pregnancies, because during pregnancy, the skin is stretched by the expansion, especially in the last three months in which the baby grows more, causing the skin to sag after the delivery, making a bulging abdomen due to the separation of the abdominal muscles.
This expansion of the skin of the abdomen, on multiple occasions, causes the appearance of stretch marks, in addition, with the frequent appearance of diastasis of the rectus abdominis muscle, that is, the separation of the muscle from the midline, especially in women who have had multiple or repeated pregnancies.
It is recommended that women who are candidates for this surgery do not get pregnant again and use a contraceptive method. However, in the event of a new pregnancy, the pregnancy can be accomplished, although the deformity can reoccur and will require a new surgery.
This is not an ambulatory surgery, consequently, after the procedure, the patient must remain hospitalized and recovering for at least 24 hours.
